I'm coming up today and wondering what the road conditions are?

The website for BEAR states open roads with NO restrictions. Is this True?

Going up the 330 NB to Big Bear Lake Blvd to my Cabin.

    Thanks!

If I NEED Chains, anyone have any I can borrow for 33's? Where is the BEST place to buy some last minute ones if I need it.

PM me your number and I'll pay you for your help.

    Road Conditions

As of 11:14 am 3-26-12 All three roads to Big Bear are OPEN.

Chains are required on Hwy 330/18 the front way on all vehicles except 4WD and AWD with snow tires.

No chains required on Hwy 38 or Hwy 18 thru Lucerne.

We expect these restrictions will be lifted later this morning to early afternoon.

Is this true? Does anyone know if its been lifted>?

As quick as things change up there I would take a set to be safe.

Check CalTrans website, whatever they say that's what it is.
You can also check big bear resorts websites, they always have accurate conditions.

Always always bring a set when there is snow on the ground, because the weather may change. It's better to have and not need, than need and not have.

I have a spare set, but only for a 31" tire. GL finding a spare set. You could always run down to PepBoys and purchase a set for $120, and if you use it, keep it, don't use it, return it. (Make sure they fit and you can install them before you head out though)

Thanks guys. TW is awesome. I got text message and updated responses CalTrans couldn't do. THe restriction for CHAINS was lifted at 4pm. However it was sad as we traveled up. A Major head on crash happened minutes in front of me. It was tough to see and my girl and I prayed for the victim.

Someone in a red G35 traveling NB cross lanes and ran into a older Jeep head on and the Jeep's victim was in critical condition. *SIGH*.

That was hard to see and witness. Dam newbs in sports cards.
