If you're original sensors aren't in your new tires, then that's the problem. Otherwise, the '07 has a sensor in the spare too. Check your spare. When everything's correct, the light will turn off on its own.

Does anyone know if the maintenace light can be programed to come on at 3000 miles? I worked for a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Dealer and we could change the service interval based on the owners needs. I'd like to change mine but the Toyota dealers in the area can never give me a straight ansewer.

Yes. When you hold down the trip meter and go through the process, you'll see the number of dashes change. Each dash represents 1K miles. Release the trip meter when you reach the choice you want (3 dashes in your case).

I must have turned right past this in the manual. Mine jsut started doing this and it was driving me nuts. Shouldnt it reset on its own after an oil change? I guess i am due though when I think about it. Time to go get some mobile-1

No- The truck doesn't know when you ACTUALLY changed the oil....It just knows that you need to by the time you roll 5K since the last reset.

You can keep driving past the interval and reset the light if you wanted too....No oil change required.

I changed oil back in April and used synthetic on my Tacoma TRD. Recently I put super unleaded into my engine. I noticed a difference in the power of the engine. I have only used super unleaded a few times recently then went back to regular unleaded. Could that have triggered my check engine light? I have about 50k on the Tacoma and my bro told me they set the light to come on as a maintenance reminder.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the CEL and maint required lights are completely different. maint light is for oil changes and the CEL light is for when something is wrong and you actually need to check your engine. go to a local auto store and have them run the code to see what is wrong

I notice a huge difference when I use regular-unleaded compared to super-unleaded. When I use regular, me truck engine knocks or pings, I lose gas mileage and power; is this all in my head, or does anyone else notice the same performance differences?

    Thanks!

Thanks! I went to Auto zone and they said it was o2 sensor. They tried selling me one but I did not buy it. I thought I already had that replaced a while back.
