Took out the smaller spring in the throttle assembly and lubed up all the moving parts with white lithium. Way way better!!!

I’m guessing most of you guys have oversize tires? I don’t. And I want a tune. Daily driver. Mostly highway. Left lane git er dun driver. Honestly, side roads and back roads it does decent acceleration for a truck. Not great, but doable (I won’t say no to better off the line response though). It’s the highway throttle response I’m looking for. Like going from 60-75 without kicking down 2 gears into 4th to kick it in the ass. I’d like more higher gear pull and not feel like 5th and 6th have no gonads. Max speed is in the low 80’s and that’s very seldom. I spend most of my time between 60 and 75. When I got some room for it. Pulls OK on a couple long hills I drive, but not ideal. I don’t know anything about engine or transmission mapping but am picky about what I want. I drive an off road truck on the highway and want the best of both worlds. I wanna crank down the logging roads with the dogs and left lane it on the highway cuz I got places to be.
That said, and reading every post on this thread, I’m seeing OTT as the superior tune???? Not interested in bouncing between competitors and just want a tune that works better for what I want in a truck. Very new to tuning so chastise or advise away.
BTW the closest KDMAX tuner is in Portland (about 3.5 hr drive for me). Haven’t even started researching local OTT tuners in the Seattle area yet.

I have stock tire size and went with the KD Max. I’m on the second to newest version. It made the truck actually fun to drive. No more dead pedal or stupid downshifting when not needed. Highly recommend a reputable tune over stock. You won’t regret it.

I posted this video on my intro thread.

No oversized tires on my Sport...at least until I replace the OEM ones. (And even then, I'll only be going up mildly [265/70R17])

Been happy with the performance of my Sport....but I've honestly forgotten how it drove before OTT.

I'm using S-Mode (4/5) more often nowadays and love the acceleration.

The transmission is programmed to use the least RPMs but S-Mode kinda settles that down a bit.

If its of any help to avoid a long commute, I've been with the KDMAX Pro group for over 3-years now with over (650) owners assisted. For a great tune right in your own driveway please consider my remote tuning services. As a fellow daily driver owner I shared your frustrations and the evolution of KDMAX Pro to v10 continues to lead, in fact I was recently informed the current ott tune is over a year old edit: 10-11 months now. With most comparisons faulted on comparing a newer ott tunes to sometimes 2-3 year old KDMAX Pro tunes it's certainly misleading.

Please consider a remote tune with me starting at $500 right in your own driveway where I can provide excellent service/support and the tune you are looking for backed by our own long-standing success for owners! Chris #757-320-2628 - tacomatuning.com

Thank you @JustDSM - some of the ott owners think they have had 9.0 for over a year ago. Clearly if it was not released until Nov that is not (yet) the case.

I bought the VF tuner and kdmax 6.0 when it came out. Since then I’ve upgraded with every new kdmax tune along with several custom settings.
I’m currently running a custom version of kdmax 10 that progressively increases the throttle tip-in thru each gear. This is a fantastic tune and absolutely butter smooth.
I’ve got no experience with OTT. If they want to shoot me their latest tune I’d be happy to flash it on my truck and give an honest comparison between the tunes. If the OTT tune is better I’ll also be happy to purchase it.
    I’m running a stock 21 OR on 04C21

wish there were "trial" runs of these tunes so we could try each one out. i also have kdmax v10 which is tweaked to rev to 7k and would be curious to try the ott tune. i have my own vf software but am hesitant to spend the money on a tune that may not be any better.

    Cool stuff
You guys argue over these tunes like one is so much greater than the other little do you know they are more similar than you know… they are all based on the VF Tuner software and it’s not like this a Standalone ECU tune….

When did you get the OTT tune? You might very well be on an old version. Reach out to him and check if there is an update for you. Take your time testing different throttle settings to get the best option for your personal driving style. Updates on OTT are free of charge.

I woulda been the one to tune you in TN. Is this Chris Lee by chance? I was looking through my TW messages and couldn’t find anything between us, so I’m guessing off of old fb conversations.
