I had a '16 VW Golf R, Launch Control was fun. I wasn't expecting it the first time I did it and my head hit the seat pretty hard.

Wonder how effective it would be in a Tacoma vs. doing it manually: Shift into 4Hi, turn off TRAC, hold the brakes with your left foot and load up the throttle to about 3000 rpm, release the brakes and floor the gas.

    Still thinking about it.
There you have it for a heavy vehicle and way more traction than power. I guess the electronic version is of more use for cars that might actually burn some rubber lol.

It would be cool to have a street and off-road choice depending on if 4was selected

We have a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system for a reason. Always launch in 4hi if you're competing, regardless of pavement or dirt.

Just lower your rear tire pressure so the loaded radius is the same. You're going in a straight line anyway. I've been using 4hi on pavement as needed for the past decade on two Tacos with no issues.
