Not really, no. Anecdotes exist essentially in a vacuum and have no statistical meaning, no matter how many of them you have.

If you find 1000 people with bj failures, it is just as meaningless as a single example of a failure. You still dont know how many non-failures there were.

What I'd like to see is a random sampling of everyone who has bought ball joints, let's say in the last 10 years. Then bin the results into 4 basic categories: oem failures, oem non failures, aftermarket failures, and after market non failures, maybe even "high end" and "low end" aftermarket categories.

But really, that would take working knowledge (and access) to Toyota and Autozone (and other) sales histories, which I'm pretty sure none of us will ever have baring some sort of lawsuit.

That would be nice indeed, but we'll just have to settle for anecdotal evidence and our gut feeling. Our best information is the halved LBJs and their differences in construction design.

And personal experience, but yeah, that's the gist of it. I'm just not willing to hang my hat on anecdotes.

I already have in other threads, where after almost 7 years, my moogs were doing just fine -no measureable slop, but I replaced them when I did my shocks and uca's anyway, just because I was tearing it all apart anyway. I put 555's on this time, maybe next time I'll go full OEM, maybe not. I'll cross that bridge in another 6 or so years.

If I *just* wanted to save money, I just would have gotten a body lift, or bought a chevy.

But from my perspective, the additional cost/minimal percieved benefit of oem BJs didn't pencil out for me. I said in an earlier thread that if the moogs I had failed, I'd report back and eat my words, or eat crow, or whatever. That didn't happen after nearly 7 years. My OEM ones didn't last much longer than that.

If my current non-oem BJs fail prematurely, my promise to eat my words still stands.

OP , not sure if someone mentioned this. But you need a proper wheel alignment. Look at how your tires are wearing !! That's bad and waist of money on tires.
