Well after 130K and the fact that my ball joints are both leaking some grease i figure I might as well replace bushings, joints and with all the issues there have been with the camber bolts i figure id replace those too. I dont want to get in there and find out I need to replace and since I am here in MX its not a case where I can just order some up.

I guess I can jack the truck up and loosen them up to see if the are not too stiff and apply a generous amount of anti-seize on reassembly. It would be about $200 for all 4 bolts.

What says the experts. Some details below.

    1. I live in a area which is dry most of the year but swamped for 3 months. Regularly i drive through 8in of water if not more.

    2. They have been totally submerged.

    3. 130K miles

    4. pot-hole infested roads every day all day long

    5. not easy to source parts unless i go to the dealership which = more $$

One other question -- at how many miles is everyone replacing the rear pads. mine are from the factory

Mark them for position, then go under your truck and test one out; If they move - they're fine! :)

... sounds like you've already decided to replace them to spare any headache though...

well when I see so many people talking smack about those bolts I get proactive and want to replace everything but at $200 for 4 of them from NAPA and since I just dumped about $3K on dental work and new Blistines Id like to hold on to my $$.

Looks Like kenLyns has given me a good option. saving $60 might push me in that direction. I like being able to grease the darn things, but if like you said they move which = they are OK then I am going to just grease them up and re-install when I take the LCA off.

    Thanks for the info

ok just so I am on the same page or better said the correct page as everyone else. These bolt/cam assemblies are not wear items. They get replaced when they seize, or am I missing something? They have be on there for 130K and if they loosen up then they are good for another 130K

Interesting -- cambolts are the exact same ones sold by rockauto under the raysbestos brand as the NAPA ones just cheaper at rockauto

^Probably the same factory in China cranking them out and putting them in differently-branded boxes...

I am just going to plan on changing them. For $150 I am not going to screw with the old ones. Too much aggravation

Thanks guys for all the guidance. It is much appreciated. Once again TW saves me some serious $$$$
