Hey guys, I went wheeling this past weekend and was looking around under my truck today and noticed the ball joint on the LCA had some gray grease around the bottom of it. Is it busted and what am I looking at cost wise if it is??
Thanks guys, here are some pics:

Nope. No need to do anything. It's leaking grease but that won't cause any immediate failure. Just remember to check for play when you rotate your tires each time.

If you want you can jack up that side and pull and push on the top and bottom of the tire. There should be no play. You can even stick a pry bar or something under the tire and try and leverage up, nothing should wiggle or move.

This is just my .02, Looks like nothing, I have some grease like that on mine. You could jack it up and disconnect the LCA from the Spindle so that you can move the ball joint around and check for extreme looseness, tears in the boot, or binding, of clunking. Likely wont find much of that. Sometimes with lots of heat and movement (aka off roading) grease can ooze out. If the boot is torn but the ball joint is still good you can usually buy a new boot and not need to replace the entire thing.

I think worst case you need a new ball joint, very unlikely, but just get one from the many online toyota part retailers, installation shouldn't be terrible, but I haven't done this yet...

Mine is like that too. I showed the tech when I got it aligned and he checked it out and said it was good.
