Do it right and replace with OEM bushings.

I did mine in a few hours using Timmy the tool mans video for reference...

So I just wanted a 'majority' vote kind of thing; I replaced the LCA's and bushings myself so I'm sure doing it again will be faster and easier.

I'd like to ask what you mean by doing it "right" though? Are the OEM bushings superior to after-market poly bushings?

I'm all for spending more on whatever is better, as I've already done that enough in this truck already.

Sorry, not to imply you did it wrong. Over the last few years it occurred to me that aftermarket may not be what’s best. OEM stuff just lasts. That said, I have Camburg Uniball UCA’s with poly bushings and they are fine. (And greasable).

I did my lowers with OEM rubber bushings. My shackles are OME poly, and do require greasing from time to time. They will howl if not...

Since you have them installed try everything.
My 2003 was squeaking, fairly new 1-3 yr old new lowers, i shot them with wd40 dry lube -then soon after- just fluid filmed them. They’ve been quiet for awhile now. Worth a try, yep its a bit messy but it worked for me for the time being.

I think the difference with poly bushings though like the ones he has installed is that they need a specific kind of silicone based grease inside the bushings to function quietly. The OEM rubber bushings you can just hit with some lubricant spray and it'll work to quiet them down for awhile. I do the same thing with mine.

Makes me lean toward just replacing them with rubber ones again when the time comes rather than going with poly. After my experience with leaf spring bushing noises I really don't have much faith in poly bushings.

Going to be tackling them tomorrow or the day after; I've mentally given up going wheeling anywhere on my days off so I may as well be productive.

Given up for my days off that is; I work 65+hours a week and have Wednesdays and Thursdays off.

If I have nothing major to do IE big errands, I'll take that opportunity to go wheeling, or camping, or a short trip.

However, since I really want to get rid of this noise, pulling apart my lower front end is considered a "major thing". When things should go easy, they usually don't.

I didn't read through the whole thing, however if you aren't torquing the lca bolts down after the truck is settled to ride height you could try that along with the heavy lubing.

I run Energy Suspension poly bushings and they've never once squeaked. Just sayin'... :boink: :D

Just grease them. I use this red crap that's been in my garage for ages. When it was a daily driver + occasional off-road, I went 6 years :anonymous: without doing a single thing to them and they never squeaked. I took them out when I did my Kings a year or 2 ago, they were still perfectly fine, so I greased them up and threw them back in.

    Yep.

Just the same way I torqued down the front coil overs and rear leaf pack.

I've read a lot of other threads where people are getting the same squeaking I get from poly bushings, so I was on the fence of just going with OEM or taking my current setup apart and greasing it all up with something different.

With that being said, I'm not wheeling these next days off and instead, performing some noise-control.

I recently replaced my lca bushings with whiteline (on my second gen) and I think I hate them. They’re hard to keep lubed and everything has to come apart to lube them. It is legitimately making me consider just buying some performance aftermarket lowers for zerks.

    OEM bushings are $73/ea.

Rockauto has OEM replacements that vary from $11 to $15/ea.

Plan here is, replace the bushings on my extra LCA's and swap in the LCA's with rubber bushings and remove the LCA's with Whiteline's.

Can't decide what brand to go with as they're all listed as 'Daily driver'.....

I would order the actual Toyota ones, no telling how iffy the rubber quality may be on the aftermarket brands even if they claim to be OEM equivalent. Don't wanna have to replace them all over again.

See how much they are over on Toyotapartsdeal.com...they usually have pretty good prices. They pull from the cheapest parts dept in their network (makes returns a pain if you have to return something). Ive used them several times though and always had good luck. That or Camelbacks site

    $52/ea...so that's over $200 for 4 bushings if I go OEM.

Yeah, I definitely heard the same thing, that poly bushings and uniball UCAs squeak all the time. I don't really know what I did differently, but mine have never squeaked.
