What difference does it make if it's leased? Save your stock header and reinstall it after the lease is done if your planning on not buying the truck.

    A thing or two...
For a lease vehicle, I wouldn't even bother if you don't plan on buying the truck when the lease is up.

I had one on my 2RZ (97 2wd AUTO) oh yeah. Was not planning on buying one, but my exhaust manifold was cracked in half, LCE header was Cali legal AND cheaper than a dealership part so $360 later I had a header. Completely different truck, best money I spent on that thing. Looking forward to what LCE can/will do for my new taco.

Finally getting around to installing the header this evening, and rounded one of the rusty nuts securing the air injection pipe to the manifold. Any suggestions?

How about using a chisel to bust the nut? Aren't those threaded bolts replaced on the new header?

Yes, they are replaced. I could try that. What kind of chisel are you thinking of? i might sleep on it before i make my situation worse.

Thanks! Do you mean actually splitting/destroying the nut, or striking at an angle to get it to spin off?

Yes, try splitting the nut. Try to get on it straight as you can. Few light taps to get the chisel seated, then hit it harder.

Alright, crisis averted, got the old manifold off. I got really intimidated by the rust on the small nuts/studs for a minute, but a couple days of penetrating lube and a good six point socket took care of it. A couple more questions for those of you that have installed this:
1)LCE says 33ft/lbs and fsm says 27, for the mounting nuts. Which to go with and why? Split the difference and go with 30?
2)the bracket that held the bottom of the old manifold to the bell housing- do I need to remove this for clearance, or can it be left in place?

I emailed LCE before I installed mine to ask about the torque difference. They said to go with 33 ft-lb. My bracket is off, but you put the bolts back in the bell housing.

I know you already fixed your issue, but you can also get a tool that will split it. Basically the same thing, a chisel point tool in a device that looks like a copper tubing cutter. You crank down and the chisel point splits the nut. I've seen/done both methods. If you have room the tool is sweet.

Wait, there's an LCE header thread, and @moe2o4 hasn't been called in yet? Dude has before and after dyno runs for. 2016 2.7, for anyone questioning the gains (sorry man, I couldn't resist)

Doesn't the 3rd gen 4banger have dual vvti? So it should have more hp and torque to begin with... not sure in exact specs tho
