Story started when at 15kish my stock clutch more less detonated and I debated getting a stock clutch again or upgrading. I weighed my options and ended up resurfacing my flywheel and putting in an LCE pro clutch. This worked out really great for approximately 70kish until the clutch was toast. At least this clutch did not detonated itself.

I really did like the LCE pro clutch feel and didn't feel the need to upgrade to a different clutch. My 2.7l doesn't produce much more power than a couple of angry squirrels trying raid a bird feeder. How ever this time I went with the LCE high torque heavy flywheel 35lbs after doing some "bro" research.

The debate from all the forums heavy vs light flywheel was endless. For was I was looking for I decided the LCE heavy flywheel was worth the gamble.

I think it was but it wasn't covered under warranty because it was a wear item per Toyota. Even though they have recalls in the same clutch from years previous on the same engine tranny.

The combo I have chosen for the four banger and the flywheel is not 30lbs as advertised it is 34-35lbs vs 23-24 stock

What I can say so far after driving 1k is I really like this combo but took little bit to get used to at first.

Oh I totally get it, wasn't trying to dog you at all (hence the shitstorm emoticon). I hope the new clutch holds out for you.

My adventurous days are over, my Tacoma is my "old man truck" :D

    Differences noted immediately

Engine is slower to rev but is butter smooth
Truck is way harder to stall want to move even without throttle
Power band is way better hills require much less down shifting

0-60 speed much faster and smoother
65-85 speed much slower but holds speed easier

But in all I think this truck 2.7l in 4x4 5speed configuration should have come with a heavier flywheel stock it feels so much better. It is night and day over the stock flywheel.

How is this setup holding up? Thinking about running the heavy flywheel with the lce dual comp clutch with my 4.88s.
