To be fair she didn't even shed a tear when she learned of rock rash on the wheels. I was proud of how she handled it! I think I would have been more mad at myself than she was.

I have some lift questions... why did you go with the 888 coil over the 885 that the kit comes with?

    How does it ride?

You mention adding a shim to bring the front up a bit more. What shim are you planning to use?

And last for now my local shop told me the OME kits don't require upper arms. Was that just a preference for you?

I ordered my lift through Toytec and they have three different coils (basically one for a stock front end, bumper or winch, or bumper and winch) that you could request and two different shocks. With this you can essentially build your own lift as it fits the needs for your vehicle. I went with the 888 (middle stiffness) because I won't be adding a full bumper (looking at low profile options) and I didn't want to have my suspension too stiff (likely would have been the case with the 886). It currently rides a little stiffer than stock but I actually prefer it. Everything is beautifully smooth on the trails.

As for the shim, I paid the extra money for Toytec to assemble my front shocks with coils and when they do that they add a trim packer to the drivers side shock in order to alleviate the "Taco lean" we hear about so much. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize that and struck out by accidentally installing the drivers side shock with the trim packer on the passengers side. So now I have extra "Taco lean" haha. I just have to swap the shocks and I should be level. Rookie mistake, I know. Haha. So I probably won't add anything else unless I absolutely have to, and that may happen when I add the bumper/winch.

I got UCAs to achieve better articulation and to ensure I wouldn't have any issues down the road with larger tires rubbing on the stock UCAs.

Let me know if you have any more questions, I am happy to help.

Great build so far Leah, I really like the photography. I have a lot of similar ideas for my truck and will be following to see where you go with it. Keep up the good work!

Thank you Eric! I have lots of plans in the works, just need to save up the money and make them happen. Let me know if you have any questions. I over thought a lot of the things and poured myself into a ton of research before pulling the trigger on everything.

If only I had about an extra $4k hanging around - I could finish "everything" up this year.

It would be awesome to put everything on a credit card and be finished, but my wife would kill me and part of the fun is seeing the gradual transformation over time.

I completely agree. Not having all the money right now has forced me to really think about what I want and evaluate the vision for this truck. I think it's actually helped me keep the build cleaner.

Looking good. Been on the same debate for 255 vs 285. Waiting on my Ray10's as well.

Thank you! They are bolt on. I love them so far, no complaints aside from the install not being as easy as I would have liked. Had to move the fuel pump control box and then had to drill 6 holes in the bottom of the frame (my arms were killing me at the end)

Those sliders are priced pretty good, kinda wish I would have heard of them before I ordered my SOS sliders.

SOS are good too. There are so many options out there. My friend out in CO knows these guys (Metal Tech is in Oregon) and hooked me up. Their customer service was outstanding and made me feel super comfortable. Even helped me work the shipping so I wasn't paying an arm and a leg for it.
