Problem that I've read about with 4 link rears and our trucks is the gas tank is in the way so people either add a fuel cell or go 3 link..

Any idea what a 4 link would even cost?

Probably a lot at a shop. But thats something we do at my shop a lot, so cost of material lol

Yeah I can see that. But in theory if one did a parallel 4 link instead of a triangulated one you could get away with it.

Haven't seen that before. Definitely be able to save the gas tank...but would you put the shocks right on the axle?
If you go outside of the frame you might have to worry about tires rubbing them on articulation...some get away with spacers and a small amount of rub some guys notch their frames to help...

Amazing build! I am also at a crossroads. I need to cut my front fenders as I have hit them plenty on hard bumps. Running 35's. Problem is the edges of the ARB bumper will have to be cut as well. I have put this off for quite some time.
I love the look of your new bumper. But I like the protection that the arb could have against a deer on the road. I ride from Eagle Pass to San Antonio and Austin a whole bunch. The road from Eagle Pass to SA has plenty of deer.

Hot damn. That's a beautiful build! Curious about dialing in the 4 link with significantly varying loads (empty->tent camping->towing). I presume you'd have to swap your springs every time you changed your load or, if you're really serious about doing it right, change your valving... You would definitely lose some bed space and have to keep shit in the bed of your truck from falling through the coilover holes... How much rear travel are you looking at?

I think ive tossed out the 4 link idea and just gonna do it poor man style. Chevy leafs. But, If I do go thru it I'm most likely gonna do trailing arms and have extra tabs for a set of air shock I can swap in and out for towing.

Ahhhh, yes! I forgot about air shocks! With all of the stuff you lug around, you'll probably have more flexibility with leafs anyways.

Little mandatory rock posing after hitting the trails today with some comrades. This truck never ceases to amaze me at how well it performed off-road for being a 2wd.

BTW I don't think I'll ever not have ST Maxx tires on this truck.
