LDRL1 DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

Just noticed on you tube from Milton Ruben Toyota in Augusta Ga, there is an option for led daytime running lights for the 2015 Tacoma they set under the headlight has 6 led lights on both sides and its a 499.00 option

 

Under on the painted part?

 

yes the painted metal piece directly under your head light if you go to the dealerships website he has some Tacomas with the lights

 

You could easily achieve that look with about $20 worth of Ebay lights.

 

I know , just put it out there for those who were not aware of the option

 

I'm not sure I like that look; seems kinda Ricer to me, but I still have stock with different bulbs. I really want some halos.

 

I found these lights on Amazon and bought them along with the right color of Duplicolor paint. The paint matches perfectly and the lights look great.

IMO, it would be nice to see an actual light housing (with SMDs inside) as a replacement for that plastic trim piece. The individual LEDs mounted in holes in the plastic look "cheap" to me...even though they cost $500.

 

I got them when I bought my truck. I love them, super bright, and much better looking than halos in my opinion. And they include a separate DRL switch next to the usb/aux input, so I don't have to have the amber DRL on like normal.

 

if only they came in amber... one could wire them up as turn signals...

 

I have found some of this parts already painted to match OEM colors, some colors are backordered (like mine MGM) , the kit look easy to install and this kit is used for some dealerships (here the installation video http://youtu.be/UIKI5KEvDOc)

This Auer part is what 3 different Toyota dealerships installed to 3 different friends and they get charged $499 plus tax, I don't know why Amazon offer the part cheap because if you guys see the Auer website they offer the same part for much more $349.95 plus shipping costs

Do they turn on automatically when the car starts? Do they shut off when the car is turned off? I'm thinking about picking these up myself.

 

I used this kit on my 2013 Tacoma and it was a pretty easy install. I can send you a PowerPoint presentation on how I did it. The lights will turn on and off with the ignition if you pick up power from the right fuse location. The control unit for this kit gives you the option of having the lights turn off when you turn the headlights on or the DRLs will dim with the headlights on. PM me if you need more info.
