You’re wanting to add all that weight and run 33” tires without changing the suspension too much? It’s going to rub, bub.

Besides that like others have stated, all that weight is going to sag your rear end. You could probably get away with an AAL, but something like a MD pack from @Blackout14 or OME would do even better.

You’ll need new bump stops and a shackle flip, depending on what you do.

No. I just did 4 shocks and the adaleaf. At 1.5”’of lift the UCAs are not required.

OME medium duty should work with no lift. I think it would be wise to buy the HD pack though and remove the extra leaf if you need to. That is easier and cheaper than adding it later.

There are of course more expensive options but that is all you really need for the leaf pack. The other poster is correct, expect to kill your rear shocks with any continuous bumps. 5160s are a quick and easy upgrade.

My fear would be you are going to get significant sag in the front from the stuff on the roof. I got over and inch of sag just from skids and sliders.

I did firestone ride-rite system, sounds like a good fit for you. Adjustable, and you can keep the stock springs and shocks. It has worked well for me, and I have like 5-600 pounds out back 24/7 before camping gear in the bed. I’m on stock springs.

How stiff does it ride up front? I have the same setup but set at 1” in the front. Reason I’m asking is because I want to ditch the 1” block I have in the rear and replace it with an AAL and I know those add about 1.5” of lift as stated in your first post so I want to maintain the 1” rake.

I my opinion the stock OR shocks were to soft up front, so I like the fact it’s a little more planted up front.

If you already have 5100s, going from a 1” ride height to 1.5” ride height will not change the ride characteristics very much at all. Unless you add so much preload that you have no droop (and your springs are binding), your spring rate and shock valving will be the same and all you are changing is ride height, which is the ratio of available compression to available droop.

    I doubt you’ll notice a change.

Ok, it looks like the active suspension could do the job. However, i would like some better shocks, so I'm thinking of 5100's.

If I do a 1" lift, can I put on an HD pack? Or do I have to lift higher for that?

Rake is present in a pickup truck for good reason. I’m not sure why it became a trend to get rid of it.

You should also check out fox shocks. Their 2.0 non resi shocks are pretty good. @Shellshock runs them on the stock leak pack and has had zero issues.

Yeah. I’m sure there are good products from Fox. I run their shocks on my Mountain Bike and wouldn’t run anything else.

I went with 5100s on my Tacoma because they are inexpensive for what they are and have a lifetime warranty. They are a very popular choice where I live, and if you blow one out, the local shop will literally just hand you another one, no questions asked, no receipt, nothing.

Really? I didn’t know that. That’s a pretty good deal right there. I was told that the 5100’s aren’t that much better than the factory rears, so I never really looked into them. Might have to re explore.

Its not horrible, but you can feel it when you dont really slow down on bumpy roads. I was zipping through mounds of sand at the beach this weekend and it was awesome tbh

Hey Stocklocker, if I just want 1" - 1 1/2" lift in front, will I get that with the 5100's? I don't have a need to raise the rear.

I need to update my info. It looks like 1.5” is a setting with the 3G specific shocks. That is where mine are set.

    This shows the settings:
    https://downsouthmotorsports.com/pdf/101491

This shows how the settings are achieved, though the measurements are wrong for a 3G. Refer to the PDF above for those.

Roll stock for awhile and see what happens. I wheeled my truck stock with 600-800 lbs on the rear (sliders, shell, gear, 4 people), even doing some technical stuff, and it worked well enough. They're tough. Don't try to anticipate suspension needs like you're doing, upgrade once the need has been actually established.
