They squeak really badly. I should mention that the weight capacity of the Dakars ran out over time the more weight I added. The stage III U402's rated for 1k are a better choice for me:

I do have a leaf spring squeaking issue but I assumed it was the leaf spring bushings. Did you add a small lift block in conjunction with your Deaver's? I like Dakar's 2.75" lift so if I switch to Deaver's with a 2" lift I will need to add blocks to get the same height. I really do not like blocks although I do have a 1/2" drivers side "Taco lean" block currently with the Dakar's. And researching Deaver's a bit it looks like they have a left and right specific spring. Do the left and right a different have spring rates to fix the "Taco lean"? Also, I noticed depending on Gen2 or Gen3 with other manufactures of springs lift height will be different, such as Dakar's. If installed on a Gen2 the lift is 2.75" and if installed on a Gen3 the lift is 2". Deaver's list as a 2" lift on 2005-2020. I am wondering if the lift will vary with Deaver's based on Gen2 or Gen3? Such as 2.75" on Gen2 and 2" on Gen3? Any insight is much appreciated!

Never stack lifts; i.e never stack a stock leaf pack replacement (lift #1) with a block spacer (lift #2). Having side specific leaf packs labeled is associated with the lean from the driver and the gas tank when it is full, yes.

I am not aware of any "driver's side" lean lift block for rear lifts. They have them for front lifts, sure.

I am interested in seeing photos of your lift. Some things sound very fishy...

Here is a link to a "lean" spacer/shim I am talking about: Wheelers and Toytec both sell the 1/2" shims. I have Dakar's with 3 degree pinion shims and a 1/2" "lean" spacer on the drivers side. If Deaver's already account for the lean then I would love to ditch the 1/2" spacer. But, the amount of lift with Deaver's on a Gen2 is the question.

I'll be the odd man out here and say that I'm really happy with my Dakar pack, haven't had it for that long yet tho, so can't attest to it's longevity.

Shims are for the diff pinion angle to address driveline vibrations. They are not for lean and they are supposed to be installed in pairs; not on single sides of the axle..

I have matching pinion shims on both sides of the axle (left and right) with narrow end pointing forward to direct the pinion upward 3 degrees. The drivers side has the 1/2" "lean" shim. I am aware of what pinion shims do...that is why I installed them! Thanks for your input.

I went with icon rxt in option 2 for my 3rd gen longbed 4x4. With king 2.5s all around and the ride is smooth yet firm. No more jouncing, or sharp rebound, it’s so subtle it reminds me of a temperpedic mattress with no spring back.

Deavers are probably the best ride performance but they lower your payload capacity. That’s why I went with Alcan. It’s like a different truck altogether.
Either company will build them to your lift and payload specs.
I highly recommend Alcan based on my experience.

What kind of weight are you running with the Alcans on a daily basis? I have a over rack, best top, and a decked system installed all of the time. Plus, I haul a motorcycle trailer or small camper from time to time.

I put on a set of Dobinson heavy duty springs late last year. I ended up right around 2.5" of lift on my DCSB with a camper top and drawer system in the back. They hold additional weight really well and ride good without a lot of weight added. I would recommend them.

I ended up going with Deaver standard springs.

Did you go with the 800-1200 lbs. leafs?

    1. Deavers
    2. Icon rxt
    3. OME Dakar (if on a budget, not adding weight, don't mind squeaking)

I got the Deavers. I'm excited for the real rear lift, and to get rid of the block.

I only have an Undercover tonneau, HiLift, small compressor, MaxTrax, shovel, recovery gear and some other small, light items.
When I go dirtbike riding I use a motorcycle carrier and add camping gear as well. The supposedly 1.5" of lift I ordered doesn't move much and that is supposed to be stock payload.
Like I mentioned, you tell them what kind of carrying capacity and lift you want and they build them that way.
    I still recommend Alcan.

Does everyone experience vibrations when putting leaf kits? I was thinking of upgrading from aaL to a whole leaf kit.

My Dakars rusted out and squeak like crazy. They are budget friendly but you will eventually replace them. I am looking at replacements as well. Deaver is king but DAYUM that takes my whole stimmy check.
