I have read threads about the tsb to replace my leaf packs due to bad sag when loaded. I have loads in my truck very rarly but when I do the sag sucks.

The dealer said they would replace the packs but have had many complaints about to stiff of a ride after the switch.

Does anyone have any opinions as to the ride after being too stiff or not noticeable?

    Thanks
    In advance

Don't know if this helps, but my '14 4x4 access cab came with the 3/1 leafpack(tsb style I believe), and it rides nice & smooth....

It's not too stiff at all, but it does firm up the rear. Makes the truck follow through turns and corners much better than without the extra leaf. It will make it look somewhat bro if you don't lift the front a bit though.

I had the tsb performed and the new leafs are a huge improvement over the 3 leaf pack, truck is more stable now.

The TSB leafs suck too but just less than the US stock 3 leaf pack

Not stiff , all the Canadian trucks have come with a 4 leaf pack since the '07's

It's still to soft for a truck IMO.
Definitely not stiff. Maybe a little bit more but not enough to write home about.
If they are complaining of a stiff ride they don't know what a stiff ride really is.

To many "non truck" people buy pickups these days which is why manufacturers focus on Tue comfort, I'm with you I wish my tsb pack was stiffer. I have a 1988 s10, that truck is stiff, lethal springs and they still have an arch to them unlike today's trucks that flatten out or negative arch.

I gave someone a ride in my plow truck to his house one night. He had some work being done at the shop.
He asked how I could ride in it. I said it was a normal truck like a real truck use to be. :)

Thanks guys, most of my driving is on San Diego freeways which are concrete and at the right speed gives you the bouncing effect. But I agree that's how a truck should feel with a solid suspension and having better performance with the bikes loaded on the way to desert would be nice.

I have a topper on my '06 Tacoma and probably a couple hundred pounds of gear in it most of the time but that shouldn't cause it to bottom out on every road dip, which it has done since day one.

Unfortunately, I didn't hear about the spring TSB until just before the warranty expired and was too busy to get anything done about it before it expired so I just put up with the thing bouncing off the bumpers half the time.

This summer I asked myself why I was doing still putting up with this and started looking around for an inexpensive solution. I finally decided on some Helwig spring "helpers" which were only $100 for a set of four and took all of 15 minutes to install. Now, my truck rides like it should.

Just my opinion,,, Get it done, you will not regret it!! your truck will ride better, handle better, & look better!! it raised the rear about 1 1/2" (put the truck in better visual balance) when I had mine done they also changed out to a better shock, In my opinion it is a no brainer!!!

I'll take stiff over soft, plush and supple any day if its a truck. I had the saggy ass leaf pack replaced with the TSB and guess what, still bottomed out. Do it if its free and alleviates your concerns but lets hope Toyota is using another manufacturer for leaf springs

    It's a truck.

Do you want load capability? Or do you want a cushy ride? You can't have both.

I got my TSB springs only a few months after I owned the truck - and I don't think I noticed anything different. Maybe in the first 5 minutes...if I convinced myself I could feel a difference. :D

I'll take capability over the ride anyday. Again....it's a truck.

The new TSB pack will be slightly stiffer and you will experience additional rake.... at least for a while. In about 6 months the rake will be gone and you will still bottom out. IMO the TSB packs are better than the stock but I ended up installing Firestone RideRites to fix it completely. I definitely would not let his comment talk you out of it. Part of the TSB is new rear Bilsteins too, might as well get that so the time before they eventually rust out wont be as soon.

My 2013 and my 2014 DC/LB have never bottomed out even once, even when pulling my boat, and that is with all stock suspension.
