I’m looking to get new leaf packs for the rear of my 16’ taco because I’m lifting and I overloaded the stocks springs and they are no longer arched. I’m also fed up with the squeaking after every trip off-road.

With that said, what do y’all prefer? Ome Dakar or Dobinsons. The Dobinsons are slightly cheaper but that’s not a huge deciding factor.

Does one have more sag over the other after time goes by? Is one noisier over the other? Both being in “medium” load rates does one provide more lift than the other?

Just wanna get the best option out of the two and at this time these are the only leafs I’m considering due to cost.

ATS springs has packs that are cheaper than both options you listed. Out of those 2 though, Dobinsons by a long shot. OME Dakars are not great.
FYI if you completely sagged the stock leafs you may want a HD pack (depending on how much lift you want).

Does anyone know how much lift the HD springs give when not loaded with any added weight? I’d like the extra lift but I don’t want it to ride like a dump truck. I’ll be running 5125 shocks in the rear.

2005 and newer are all the same. I contacted them on IG and the guy provided great service. They have 3 packs, 4leaf MD, 4leaf HD, and 5leaf HD. All have an overload in addition to the leaf count. I run the 4leaf HD and have around 500-600lbs in the back and still have around 2”-2-1/2” of lift. Rode just fine before I put the camper on too with no weight in back

Editing to add I was definitely at 3” or just over with no added weight. They provide quite a bit of lift

    TAC1 and Zgriff[QUOTED][OP] like this.

I might still go with the Dobinsons medium duty pack and order the overload leaf if I need more lift but I’d still like to hear opinions from people who have run different brands of leaf springs
