Howdy. I’m a converted Jeep Guy (I know, I know. Don’t hate me for it). With that, I’m Doing a suspension on my ‘23 TRD OR QC. I haven’t much experience with doing leaf springs. I picked up some used OME Dakar springs (thanks @JDAM - was good meeting you today) I am currently in the process of removing the existing bushings and inner sleeve. My question is regarding an “outer sleeve (seen in pic). Does this outer sleeve need to be removed as well, or does it remain in place and my new bushings will press into them just fine. I haven’t seen a replacement “outer sleeve” from OME, so my assumption is that those outer sleeves will stay in place. The bushings attached are the ones I purchased.

Ok. Now what’s the difference in this end? First pick is forward end. This is the rear.

I think they stay in? You can wait for new bushings to arrive and see if they fit. Just clean it out real good.

Dakar's are known to be squeeky leafs.

    1. I would take the whole pack apart, clean, lube or even use those leaf liners out there. I redid my ICON RXT's w them.

    2. Dobinson makes greasable pins, you can replace all 6 pins with them.

    3. The dakars that i have worked on, just two rubber bushings and a metal sleave for each eye. No need to remove anything else. Clean and lube those eyelets really well.

I am sure this has long been completed and having just done it myself and used the ome replacement bushings mentioned, I wanted to add what I did-
The stock front end outer sleeve is a single piece, only going through the hole, but the back end is 2 sleeves, each of which wrap around the outside edge. The single piece front can be removed from either side. The dual back pieces have to be pounded out from opposite sides.
Myself, I drilled out the rubber all around both ends until I could pound out the inner sleeves.
Then I took a Sawzall to both ends' outer sleeves to make a gap space. Then I used a chisel and hammer to fairly easily hammer out both ends' inner sleeves.
The ome poly bushings fit perfectly in both end of the leaf spring.
