I have a 2011 3 leaf spring pack (2 leafs and overload). I was experiencing the bump after stop. I added a leaf spring clamp just in front of the axle and that stopped completely. So much that I was amazed. The springs i have are basically flat with no arch. I’m not looking to add a leaf or change the leaf pick key anything too drastic, so don’t waste your time with those stories please (no offense). Question is has anyone tried this on a 2011 2wd Tacoma TRD or any 2nd gens?

I had something like that (maybe the same thing) on the rear of my '09 springs before the recall springs were installed. Seemed to work well, tho I never experienced your problem. I used them to help maintain level with heavy loads.

I installed Hellwig 1251's on my 2013 2wd SR5; they were easy to install and helped stiffen the back end. I've since added a Leer top and lots of gear in the bed, back end seems to be holding up well.

Any change in ride height with that? Did it seem tighter in the rear? Lol.

Did the leaf spring stabilizer clips seem to be in the way at all?

I seem to recall the clip was somewhat in the way on one side, I had to slightly move the helper spring to fit, but I got both helper springs fit eventually.

One odd thing I remember, Hellwig stated that their helper springs (or at least some models) should not be used on a vehicle with an LSPV; my 2013 doesn't have an LSPV, but maybe your 2011 does. I'm not sure why having an LSPV valve would preclude usage?

I currently have a u-bolt mod in front of my axle on the leaf springs to eliminate the annoying axle wrap clunk at hard braking. It need up lowering the back about 1/2”-1”. Has anyone noticed if the helper spring that posted give any noticeable lift back to the springs?

I didn't observe any noticeable lift, but I didn't conduct before/after installation measurements to confirm it. I just noticed a stiffer back end with less sag under loads.
Also it might depend on how far you tighten down on the U-bolts of the helper springs? I have yet to really crank down on them.

I had ordered the hellwigs for my 2015, then found out that the leaf spring clamp my be in the way and I would need to cut them off. Didn’t want to do that so I canceled the order. About 6 months later I saw where they now make and include bolts that are bent on an offset to get around the spring clamps.
It would be best to call and ask for sure.

That’s another question I had. By not cranking down on them does it not seem loose and rattle around?

Would anyone use new shocks that would help sustain sagging leaf springs? Like a heavier duty shock

I put a LEER on my 2015 DCLB and the rear dropped about 1/2 inch. Then installed the Hellwig 2K helpers and it leveled it back out. I haul a lot of bricks and they prevent a lot of the sag I had before.

Only thing I can say is goto Dealer and have it inspected for leaf spring recall then go from there. I got the recall done, you can look it up. Here ya go here's an original recall notice,do this before you do anything else.

    Good luck hope this helps.

Shocks don’t provide lift in the rear.
