So I'm putting in my new icon leaf springs. They don't come with overload stop springs....I was planning on refusing my factory bump stop.... wanted to know what you all thought about using the overload stop spring?

Rarely, (but I do do it) I load my truck down with a crap ton (think bottom of bed to top of camper shell) with firewood, sometimes green.

    What do you all think?

I replaced the factory bump stops with a set of the blue Sumo Springs right after the recall springs were installed. No more sagging or that sudden jolt and loud bang if and when you bottom out.

I have the RXT Leaf Packs option 2 in my truck.
The only time my truck is really loaded is during hunting season.
If the wife and I both kill elk all the meat, bone, antlers, ice and coolers plus our camping equipment could really push the limit. I have Timbren bump stops for added insurance

I reused my factory bump stops when installing my Deavers. It's worked well enough. I've thought about upgrading to wheelers superbumps or Timbrens, but never actually did it.

Not talking about the bump stops....I plan on reusing those....I meant the over load stop springs.

Oh... those are just "overload springs", never heard the "stop" part thrown in the middle.

Not all leaf springs have those, and aren't necessarily needed. If you wanted a spring pack with more capacity, you probably should have gone with a different set of springs?

The new ones definitely have more load capacity.

Then I wouldn't worry about the overloads. I'd run the springs you bought as they came.

Which ones did you go with?

The ICON RXT leaf pack. I am going with option 2 since I run a camper top nearly 24/7

Those are really popular. Great how they have the options to run how you need.

I'd just need an option 6 or so, lol.

Installed the driver side tonight...it's a bit of a pain swaping them out by yourself....kinda like trying to wrestle a giant squid in the water (I'm sure you all remember the last time you did that).

Anyway I'm pretty happy with how it has turned out so far.
