5100's can definitely be run with stock springs. Running stock springs is where you can utilize the 3 different height adjustments they have.
Im not a 100% sure about this but i dont think they are rebuildable. I believe if theyre shot then its time fur new...

 

Yes, they can be used with stock coils and no, they cannot be rebuilt. Look for excessive wear/deformation on that lower bushing. A decent indicator of how hard they've been used.

 

Are you still looking for a set of used leaf springs? i have a set on my tacoma that will be taken off this weekend and im planning to get rid of it for $100. Lmk

 

When I spoke with a rep at General spring, he told me that their standard springs were still better than oem. He basically told me that the weak steel in the factory springs was to blame for all the issues.

I ordered the HD's and I'm glad I did.

 

James, I think I'm just gonna wait to save up and but a set of Generals.
That's good to know. If I wasn't planning on hauling much I'd probably just get some standards, but I'm set on the HDs now lol.
