Leaf spring rebuild

    ive read a lot of post about rebuilding leaf spring packs but Is it possible to use a 2005 tacoma leaf spring on my 2004. Or at least use the leafs to rebuild mine

    I don’t think so, at least not without doing some reengineering. Pretty sure they are different lengths.

    Only reason I could think to try something like that is if you have a set of 05 leafs laying around. If that’s the case, throw them up thhere and see if it works, otherwise, just work with ones built for an 04.

    I believe you can get leafs re-arched, though, with could help limp them along for a while.

    Rebuilding leaf springs was quite common back in the late seventies and eighties at least around here .

    I watched many a leaf pack get rebuilt

    Then one got over run with lawyers with nothing to do a few law suits insurance went through the roof.

    Once all the costs were figured in and most heavy Trucks going to air ride it was far cheaper to replace with new on most vehicles under 5 tons

    Need new springs check out General Spring out of Kansas City

    I won`t fool with used springs they come off new ones are going on.

    The 04'-05' leafs are the same length but the 04' leafs the center is offset vs the 05' which is center (well as far as what I have read on general springs). Just curious if anyone have used them to rebuild
