1 1/2" lift with 5100's, custom exhaust, LT Headers, URD CAI, URD MAF Calibrator, Electric fan, Camper shell, retrofit projectors, and other goodies..
So, this Thursday in dropping my truck off to have the recalled leaf springs replaced, the steering wheel recall done, and for them to inspect my frame.

    My question is this:
Do these replacement leaf packs cause the truck to ride any higher than stock? I've currently got some add a leafs in the back, that gave me about 2" of lift.
Too high for my liking, but I just kept them in. Now that they're all getting torn out, I'm curious if I should order some new add a leafs.
Looking for 1 to 1.5" of lift.
If these new leaf packs that they're going to install will net me that, then I'll just leave them be.

    Anyone able to confirm?

when mine was done, the leafs were completely flat. i had a 1.5" AAL previously, but that wouldn't cause the new ones to be flat when they went on and for the rear to be lower than 1.5" difference. local toyota dealer tried to say the flat leaf packs were how they were supposed to be.

not saying that will be the typical experience.

I just had the TSB leafs put in a 2005 TRD OR a month or two ago. Got about 1.5" over where the old originals were and it drove and looked odd, in an ass-high way. Have since put on 6112/5160 with 6112 set at #2, levels it out perfectly. So in my truck's case at least, there was a lift from the TSB 4 leaf over the old 3 leaf. My truck had ~75k miles.

I had to go back and look at the pictures, but I think the TSB pack was flatter than OE pack.

So has anyone added an add a leaf to the new leaf packs?
The new packs are 4-leaf, right?
Don't really want to make it a 5-leaf I suppose, might right stiff.. just trying to gauge, I guess.
Trying to have as little down time as possible, as I've got a couple days off this weekend, so if I need to add a leaf, or whatever, I'd like to do it then.

Don't wanna be driving around looking like a dog dragging it's butt on the carpet LOL

    So you're running 6 leafs?
    What's your net lift now?

the 3 leaf aal is 1.5". also running a small 1" block. may upgrade to a full leaf pack later to get 2.5" w/o needing the block.

Any suggestions on AAL for this TSB leaf pack?
Got a 6 month old kiddo, so trying to keep spending to a minimum, otherwise I'd probably sell the TSB pack, and buy a new leaf kit.

I installed a Wheeler's 2" AAL and a set of OME 885 coils a week after the TSB springs were installed. The number of springs has no effect on the harshness or stiffness of the ride, so you shouldn't worry about it becoming a 5 leaf or 7 leaf pack.

If you don't regularly tow or haul heavy loads I'd get a multi-leaf progressive AAL, they have a soft spring rate.

I've got a 5x8 enclosed trailer that's full of tools and supplies. Probably about 1500lbs, plus another 200 lbs worth of crap in the bed, plus a camper shell.

I definitely need something to hold some weight, but also not kill empty-weight ride quality.

We do more road tripping in this truck, than my wife's Civic.

Im getting mine done as soon as the stealership has the right shackles.

From the research i have done for moderate offroad use i am going with
    5100s all around
Wheelers 1.5 proggressive aal (with oem overload spring)
    OME 2885 coils
Hoping for about 1.75" from stock which on my 05 2.7L should be about 2" from where it is now.

I'd just get a standard, single leaf, 1.5" AAL then.

Dano, did you decide on which add-a-leaf? I just got my frame replaced, with the updated leaf springs, and am looking for the same thing.

My truck sagged after I got the TSB leaf packs, added a Deavers AAL, non ALL is above, with the AAL is below.

What lift do you have up front, BG? How much lift was your AAL supposed to provide? Is your Deavers AAL the ones that Wheelers sells in either 1.5", or 2" varieties? I had a Deavers 2" AAL for about 4 years. When I got my frame replaced I was mad that they didn't install the AAL from the old leaf pack like they agreed to. Come to find out, half of the driver's side AAL had broken off at sometime and I had no idea.

    I'd get wheelers 5 leaf pack or Icon/Wheelers 3 leaf progressive add-a-leaf.

In the top pick I have 5100s and stock coils set at 1.75, nothing in the rear (5100s with TSB leaf packs)

In the bottom pic I have 5100s with OME 884 coils at the bottom setting, the Deavers AAL is from Headstrong Off-road and is supposed to give 1.5-2" of lift.

The same shit everyone else has.
On my truck, the TSB leafs with a Wheelers 3 leaf HD add a leaf (1.5") sat level with 5100s up front set at .85 with Eibach springs and 1/4" top plates.

When it had the non TSB spring with the same add a leaf, the truck sat level with the 5100s and Eibach springs, sans the top plates.

The TSB vs non TSB springs on my truck netted about 1/2" of lift. The non TSB springs were still in good shape and had some arch to them still. I had a picture of them side by side, but cant find it.

I added 1/2" blocks to the rear of the current set up and the truck has the factory rake to it again.

The leaf pack has 7 leafs and rides really well. Its not overly stiff nor does the rear end hop around.
