What are the conditions stated in the letter? Year models, miles, etc.?

Or is it just a specific letter for your VIN? If so, what's the scoop on your truck?

I'll be glad to get my original 4 leaf TSB springs replaced. They have lost all their arch since they were installed in 2009.

SO, on the toyota owners page my truck is scheduled for the leaf spring recall. BUT, when i called the local toyota dealership they are claiming that the current leaf springs must be inspected first before the newly designed ones can be installed. This mean that I will need to schedule 2 separate appointments with the service department. I have an appointment for the "inspection" on 3/21 and they're telling me that its going to take multiple hours to complete...sounds like some BS to me. 2+ hours to inspect the leaf springs?

Went in today for the frame inspection and the dealer had just run out of new springs or else I'd have them on today. No questions nor inspections needed. I did have to negotiate a bit to get them to agree to giving me back the extra leaf I have in each spring. I thought I was going to get the whole pack but the parts manager didn't want to go that route. I'll see what I can negotiate when I go to get them installed. Frame was fine and they'll spray it after the tech puts in the new springs.

Assuming that I get the new spring appointment, id it going to be an issue that I have an additional helper leaf spring and Firestone air bags?

Do you have a recall or TSB number? The current owner of my old 06 has a broken rear spring and I had the 4 leaf TSB springs on it.

Safety Recall E02 (Interim E12). The current owner can also register with toyota using the VIN (toyota.com/owners)
After I bought my truck, I registered it with toyota and have resolved the exhaust/cat recall already.

I just dropped my truck off for "inspection", but apparently toyota has has a change of heart. When I dropped it off the service tech told me that within the last week the procedure has changed and they are going to to ahead and install the new leaf springs today without inspecting first. Hopefully I dont get a call from them in the next few hours regarding my helper springs or firestone airbags.

You don't happen to have any pictures of the rusted frame? My frame was very rusted and they said that it was OK just curious what the threshold is for a shot frame...
