Yeah looking at going with some dobinsons right now...still reading about the icons.

Likely gonna go with something much heavier duty than stock as I will have my camper shell, the heavier rear bumper as well as the added weight of the bed (sometimes firewood completely full from floor to top of shell cab to tailgate)

So getting ready to order some new springs...any reason I can use my stock U-bolts? Looking at ordering the ICON springs.

Have you looked at the OME HD leaf springs? May be a good option:

Don’t use stock U-bolts and you should order new ones. From what understand, the u-bolts can stretch and fresh ones should be used. Get matching u-bolts for whatever spring pack you go with.

I recently had to replace the rear leaves on my 2012 Base Regular Cab as one leaf had snapped. Since I was on a bit of a budget, first place I looked was Rock auto. Seemed expensive to me. I then found General Spring online and they had HD 4 leaf packs with an extra 500lb capacity for $169 each...bushings installed. So two packs with new u bolts was under $500, and I'm ready to haul fire wood again! Gonna replace the front struts with leveling struts next as they are whooped as well. 20240316_183612.jpg

The Icon springs are taller so your stock u-bolts will be too short.

I ended up ordering the ICONs with bushings pre installed. I like the flexibility of adding or subtracting springs based on my current or future needs. I purchased new u-bolts though based on the recommendationa of folks here. Hopefully they arrive in time.

    minor tweaks
I recently did the same, HD leaf packs and some OME 884 springs up front. Very happy with the way it handles the weight of the topper and stuff I normally tend to carry, probably 250# total with the topper. not overly stiff but it did raise it a couple inches.
