Thanks, but at least for places I can't reach I will be using this bottle I have.

Are you going to remove the rust from your springs?

Mine are mostly dirty. They rub down to paint with my fingers. I have some brand of converter / primer that I'll use after taking the loose spots down. Thought about finding a bimetal blade for my bandsaw to cut it up with. Quieter than a grinder

Why cut it up?? What exactly are you doing? I used a grinder for rust and a sand wheel afterwards

Lol. Have you not read this thread?

I'm cutting up the Chevy spring to add to rebuild my Toyota pack. The pic with it on my tailgate is the 1988 4x4 Chevy spring pack (1 of 2) that I acquired. I'm going to take em apart, identify the metal I want to use, cut to size, descale and paint and add the leaves to my toy main spring.

That is what you are asking right? Or did I miss somethin :notsure:

No no that is right. Lol. I just thought you were going to use that pack itself. I like the idea of adding the donor! Let me know how it goes, you can even post your progress here if you like, but I would make my own thread (obviously since I did lol)

One day I may ditch the AAL and use a donor, who knows. My AAL has a gap like some do where the middle and ends touch the next leaf but the areas in between don't. Yet it still gives 2" of lift?

I always scale my donors after dissassembly, I do this with the edge of a cut off wheel on angle grinder, then I wire wheel, once thats done I wipe down & inspect for any potential issues, plus knocking all that shit off

(& painting after) will greatly reduce & slow the squeak process..

If I was too easily butthurt, I wouldn't hang out here. :p

My post was kinda cryptic cause I was in a hurry.

Srsly tho, the only chemical is Arm & Hammer washing soda.

Safer than any other rust remover/converter, etc..

I mess around with old farm equipment and guys use this to derust irreplaceable (as in none made since 1928) parts.

I've seen guys use some pretty big stock watering tanks, etc for larger pieces.
