I have looked this up on the site & see various suggestions regarding the shackle bolt/sleeve/lube. However, I am wondering if the rebound clip I’m using is causing an issue. My springs are a mix of leaves off two sets of springs, some I cut, some original length, plus an aal. Because the aal’s have no pre-drilled holes & I don’t have a drill press, I used these. They do seem more restrictive than the stock ones.

This is the noise (vid below) I’m getting from the shackle. Course it is a lot more pronounced when driving, mostly over bumps). I can also see signs of potential side to side movement at the shackle to bracket (top) bolt. Might be worth mentioning that the left side is fine. Same setup except a different shackle. Stock, well, stock shape made by a local spring shop, on the right (problemed side), aftermarket on the left. Same length. & now that I look closer, the left does seem to be made of thicker steel.

So…. Shackle? Rebound clips? Something else? Is there any way to secure rebound clips if there are no holes?

I take back the thickness of the steel. Made no sense, so I actually measured. Deceiving in appearance. The “stock” one has studs though. Not thru bolts like the other.
