    Hey all,
When I lifted my truck around a year ago, I used an Icon 1.5” add a leaf in the rear. It bolted to the factory leaves with a new centering pin. Later after I installed them, I started having a weird squeaky noise. At first I didn’t know where it was coming from, but from looking around and listening, I’ve isolated it to the bottom two leaves on either side, particularly the ones facing toward the rear of the truck. I assume this is most likely because the grease wore off and it caused some friction. Once I spray wd-40 on the leaves, the sound goes away, but only temporarily. I was wondering, what would be good to use? I was thinking to use a leaf spring liner, like I’ll provide a link for below, or maybe even an old cut up bike tube to sandwich in between the leaves? Or there’s the circular Teflon friction pads, but it seems like I’d have to drill the leaves, and it’d be a pita to take them apart that much. I was hoping I could jack the truck up and pry the leaves apart just enough so I could put something in at the end of the two leaves. Anyone have a similar issue or know what I could do? I wonder why they didn’t put the circular Teflon discs in these spots because every other leaf has them, and this is what the issue is…

You can see where I sprayed wd40, trying to quiet it down. However it isn’t permanent though.

My son's 2021 (stock height) had a similar squeak from the rear leaf springs which was driving him crazy. He applied a generous coat of Fluid Film to each leaf pack and the squeak has not returned. Your situation may be different but you might want to try this first before separating the leafs.

I might try that. I have no experience with fluid film but have heard of it. Is it more oily and would it stay for a lot longer than say wd-40 or silicone do you think?

I know I can live with it, but I’m not one to settle. It’s to the point to where I have my windows down maybe just creeping down a little uneven road and can hear the rear suspension creaking away as I go down. Just drives me nuts lol. If one thing comes to another I’ll get some of that liner and wedge it between the springs, or I’ll get some plastic discs and grind the nipple off them, and maybe wedge them in between the leaves. Hell, maybe even a bike tube would do

I am not sure if this leaf spring TSB affects model years after 2017, but you may be interested in reading the entire TSB PDF. See post #1 on this link.

My factory leave spring on the passenger side was squeaking cause the pad attached to the riveted u plate behind the axle was rubbing.

Yes, it's designed to be a long lasting lubricant and corrosion preventer.

Silicone spray is fine too, WD40 is for water displacement not lubrication hence the squeak returns
