Recently upgraded my truck to kings 1.5 but had to add a lot of preload on the front to level the truck. I used to have the Pro suspension that I bought from someone on here and they did include a set of leaf springs to lift the rear, but don't know what they are. Wanted to know what would be the best leaf springs to run on my truck to level it out and lower the preload. It is currently my daily and plan to do off-roading in the future so nothing to extreme.

There are no commonly available leafs that are not going to add lift to the rear. If you want to run level, which adds snout to look over and squats when you put stuff in the bed, then you'll want to stick with stock?

On the high end, Deaver does make customer packs to the height that you would like. Pity to throw out that kind of moola?

I mainly want to lower preload on the front so I guess I don't mind lift on the rear just don't want anything crazy

Running about 9-10 threads on the kings

You could just add a bunch of weight to the bed lol.

An add-a-leaf setup will lift the rear the lowest amount. Deaver J66 will be about the lowest pack replacement at about 1.5" over stock.

I'm running the J66's in the rear with about 1" of preload on the coilovers - am at ~.75" of rake on the fenders (front being lower) and it looks good to me. Perfectly level looked out of place (front much too high) and made the ride quality garbage as lifting these with preload = reduced downtravel. I'm happiest where it rides the best.

Rake is good. Like was said, you'll add about 1.5in min. The Icon RXT packs set at Option 1 put me up 1.5in over stock. Great pack, IMHO.

I was at 21 showing on my 2.5's when I first installed them to get it level with the RXT pack before switching to the Deavers. Now with the lower leaf pack I am around 10/12 (for taco lean) and the ride quality is so much better all around. They're back @ ADS now getting revalved to hopefully be even better.

FWIW 14" 650lb springs on my coilovers.

Ok I see why I'm running 600lbs spring so instead of upgrading my leaf springs wouldn't it be better to upgrade to 650s?

You would get more lift with less preload switching to a 650, or by upping to a 14" 600 if they're the older 13" springs. The factory 3g springs are something like 717 lbs so a 600 is a little light.

But based on the preload you have, if it rides comfortably it doesn't sound necessary to switch.

Its pretty stiff in the front that's why I want to lower preload. When I took it to a shop to get aligned they also mentioned that I was running a lot of preload

Post a pic of the front. That is nowhere near a lot of preload. The beefier the shocks on these trucks, the stiffer they ride. If you're at only 9 threads showing above the top collar that is very much in the acceptable preload range and should not cause enough loss of downtravel to be uncomfortable - however the valving in the shock is likely significantly stiffer than the Fox setup you removed.

That's why mine are on their way back to ADS for the second time. The valving in these bigger setups is unnecessarily stiff.

EDIT: Here's my setup on the driver side with a few extra threads to compensate for taco lean. Looks like I'm at 12-13 - getting somewhere around 1.5-1.75" lift.

The damping setting on the Kings can make a big difference also.

Preload length is not the length of exposed threads...read the link.
I promise, it will be very enlightening.

ETA-read the drag down topics under "Troubleshooting" as well
