Leaf Springs Broken 2013 Tacoma, are 2022 springs compatible. Should I not buy stock springs?

Hey, So i’ll preface this with I have been fine with stock leaf springs for 8 years.

My leaf springs have a broken spring on each side.

I am looking to replace, my dealership quoted me $3000 with alignment. I feel I can do much better. Parts only from a dealership were $1400

I do not want to lift or rake or do anything to my truck. There is a 2022 TRD Pro leaf spring set local to me for $100. I am not sure if this will fit my 2013 TRD.

I looked into upgraded leaf springs like icon rxt and old man emu but I see reports of squeeking and I don’t know if i understand why i would want this.

I guess that leaves me with 2 questions.

1: how can i check compatibility of springs across gens?

2: am I missing out on an opportunity to have a better ride by keeping things stock?

The leaf springs on 2005-2023 are interchangeable.

Ride quality, I can not help you with. Sorry.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I was very happy with Old Man Emu leaf pack on my 05 and 15 tacoma. Good ride and good load carrying. They gave lift though so not maybe not ideal for you. They are also redesigned now from what I had so not sure how it compares anymore.

You might find someone on here with stock leaf packs for cheap. Sold mine to someone on here a while back and have seen others listed before too.

Edit: bottom line is dealer is a rip off. Easy install too. Would look for local shop, not dealer, if you can't do it yourself

100$ isnt bad for used, but pro springs are the same as all the other springs so dont get worked up over it.

All 05-2023 springs are the same (updated to 4 springs but you cant order the 3 spring anymore)

    I'd offer 50$ lol

yeah ok aslong as they fit, he says they are “new” but for $100 even if only a few thousand kms or whatever is better than $1400 from a dealership new

You don't need to do an alignment on rear axle. Do replace one spring at a time to make it easier on yourself. Use new ubolts, and check torque every regularly for the first 500 miles, and every tire rotation up to 10000 miles. The bolts will stretch.

How did you break two springs? Do you have a lot of rust?

Some of them around that time had a recall on the springs, I believe. Run your VIN on Toyota's site if you haven't already.

Another option might be look locally for takeoffs if you just want stockers.

Like mentioned above, check VIN to see if there is a recall. If not and you just want it 'fixed", pick up a used set of springs and do it yourself. Get new U bolts/nuts. Do one side at a time. If I recall correctly, the Left and Right spring aren't identical, so pay attention to that.

If you are reasonably handy with a wrench and own a 1/2" drive socket set, I'd say 1 hour per side would be a high estimate of the time required. Soak the nuts with some penetrating oil for a few days before if they are rusty.

i found a pair of take-offs for $100 canadian locally (about $75usd) I just need to get new ubolts and im ready to go. I will get quotes at some suspension shops and see if I want to DIY or pay the labour
