I work at a dealership and had a technician check the noise out with me after work. It seem's like my bushings for the leaf springs are making a creaking noise that's been killing me. I ordered all 6 bushings for my leaf springs. Anyone have any idea how hard of a job this is?

Some of this Some of that
If they're original and rusty it would be reasonably time consuming to replace them, its a pain in the ass to hammer them out… Chances are your leaf springs are worn out and sagging too though… so it would easier to replace them as a whole

I realize this is my first post on this forum, been a longtime "lurker" though.. Anyway, a quick fix for your squeaking problem is good old fashion motorcycle chain lube. Been using it for years after the Deavers start the inevitable squeak. I use Bel-Ray. Looks like hell, but it works, and dirt/sand won't stick to it.

Which bushings are you replacing? The main eye or the shackle ends?

Depending on how rusty your truck is...chances are the metals sleeves/bolts are fused together. If all else fails and you can't get them off, you'll need the hacksaw. On the rear, (if I remember correctly) the shackle side plate and bolts are all ONE piece. If you cut that, you'll have to buy a whole new shackle.

Tell your Technician (aka fellow employee) to do it for you. Don't you get some sort of discount on that sort of thing?
