    Even if it was needed for structure, you wouldn't have to replace it. Something like that can be easily weld-filled.

    Perfect. Judging from your work in other threads, I'm good with that.

    I bought an M10 SHCS, 12.9 class. Which is equivalent, or a little better than grade 8, and turned the head down to size on a lathe. Just because I'm a little goofy about keeping everything metric.

    Fill the hole with a welder and grind it flat. Same thing happened to mine years ago. New center pins and good to go.

    I put it back together as is with an M10 socket head screw. Seems to be doing well.
