Ok guys and gals. a guy I've known for a long time and currently work with ended up on the same job as me today. though we were never close friends, I have always had a ton or respect for him as a fabricator yadayadayada.

anyway, says hes got a sweet high pinion d44 built up and wanting to sell. I imagine (didn't ask) that he was building it for the first gen he recently sold.

so, being the budget minded person I am, said, "no way man, the second gen sas is always expensive as hell and purely custom work, cant do it."

but, the only sas's ive seen on second gens involve coilovers, which alone are costly, ntm all the link-ends (johnys, heims, etc) to properly place a coilover setup.

so the next thought in my mind is "why no leaf-springs?" maybe the 4.0 makes too much power? no cause the rear-end does ok with factory ones, and is fine with my aal alone, and I see leaf-sprung chevys all the time (though they may not see dirt). im talking new chevys, not old beat to shit 350s.

so can anybody point me towards a reference build? is there something about the front of this frame that makes this impossible? any thoughts at all? seems to me that steering and braking would be the toughest part about a "budget build" like this, and if im not mistaken, those are fairly easy things to overcome.

    I welcome tws insight
