I generally just use a heavy gear grease.

Also, if you have access to 2 jacks, that has helped me with installs in the past.

Definitely use those. They will allow you to add grease inside the bushing as you use them.

These look like the normal bushings. It is likely that one side of your new leafs has bushings installed (probably the back) and the other does not (probably the front). These will go in the empty hole.

If it didn't come with any, you probably don't need any.

If you want some, Energy Suspension sells some for poly bushings that is super tacky and works well. Otherwise, I would probably just use some axle grease in the zerks on those bolts after install. Same stuff that you would use on the driveshaft.

I only use Superlube for bushings these days. This stuff works great!!! I buy the mini grease gun tubes from Amazon

I just used Super Lube's High Temp/High Pressure during install of new bushings. Lubed the area between bushings and spring eyelets, bolt sleeves and bushings and surface of bolts.

This where I’m at, just started about an hour ago, the shock gave me the biggest issue.

    Somethings seems a little off…

    Is this the correct orientation?

I'm not super familiar with the Apex springs. Put them up next to the OEM ones and look at how the spring connects at each end. That should help you get things lined up. Notice how on the new spring one of them essentially wraps around where the bushing is held and the other end is straight.

You should be able to tell pretty quickly by lining the new up with the old. The axle bolt should be in the same location as it relates to both ends.

My wife has my truck right now, so I can't go look at mine. That said, I'd flip that washer around so that it sort of "cups" the rubber bushing (and doesn't pool water). Otherwise, it looks alright to me. Hopefully you have the springs on already and the shock isn't going to be supporting the axle while you install the springs.

Also, that top bolt is a different style than what I have. Mine have a little spot for you to hold with a crescent wrench while you tighten the bolt.

FWIW, I'd also probably try to sand (or otherwise remove) the rust spot and spray with some black spray paint. Probably better to do without the shock there, but you could wrap with tape to keep the paint off the bushing.

If nothing else, it'll look better.

Yes this... the top washer is upside down. Can’t tell how you’ve got the bottom washer oriented but the cupped part of the washer on the bottom should be facing up.
