    This.

I assumed there was no tension cause we suggested using said jack to raise/lower the axle.

OP may not have done this.

Yeah I read in one of his posts that "the other tire is still on". I just hope he's being careful. OP where are you located?

I'm alive and well. If I don't post within the next 24 hours, assume I am dead. The first person to "like" this post will get to inherit my rusty Tacoma.

Sounds like you're lucky. Most folks face issues getting the front bolt out.
You don't need to get the top out- so focus shifting the pack off the bottom pin. PB Blaster is your best friend here.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Your all lucky after my first time the torch cuts everything off.

Op if your spring is not supported the weight of the spring holds you shackle from coming out.

Torch will sloop out the old bushings - I had to cut off the main eyebolts and burn out the old bushings on the hanger and get new ones - I’d say you’re in the same boat. Swapping springs on an old rust bucket is a bear

Yup. I got everything else off. Now only the rubber/plastic is stuck to the pin. I don't have a torch but will try a lighter.

Is the metal collar on the threads part of the bolt, or is it attached to the rubber bushing?

Something's not right. I ordered the Husky springs. The hole for the rear on them is big enough for the bolt in the picture to go through, but not big enough for the smooth metal pin to go through. And definitely not the rubber.

I posted pic of the rear shackle in the above post.

The center of the pic (the blurry bit) shows the bolt/pin the rear of the leaf spring will go onto. The hole on the leaf spring is sized for the threaded part.

But, pictured previously in this thread by others is a kit where the smooth part of that bolt is sized bigger than the threaded part.

I've double and triple checked that I have the right springs. It's just the attachment I'm confused about now, at the rear of the spring.

I'm afraid that on my truck's shackle, the threaded and smooth part is once piece. Which means I'll have to order fresh (thread only) bolts and shackle.

I think I recall someone very recently running into this.

Asked for suggestions and we all said (me included) to return them as Husky isn't even recommend amongst the forum.

If you don't get OEM parts, at the very least get General Springs. They are indeed a factory replacement, and don't have issues such as bushing size differences on the shackles and whatnot.

Maybe you're supposed to reuse that sleeve once the bushing is removed?

Or you could simply be looking at the wrong side of the leaf pack. Military wrap goes up front.

Do not install the leaf pack backwards.

Just realized that. But, both front and rear holes are same diameter.

Sucks those shackles are rusted to shit; I take back the 3 hour total install.

I'd opt to get some new shackles to accommodate the new leaf pack, that is if you can't burn off the bushings to reuse the sleeve. My guess is you're supposed to reuse it.

+1 for that looks like the front side with military wrap. Does the other end have a different bolt hole size?

Same size holes for both. The bolt I removed from the front using the 19 mm socket fits in both holes. I guess I'll try to zip cut the smooth oversized sleeve off. If that doesn't work, I'll have to buy new shackles and bolts.

I usually replace everything. IMHO the time to recycle parts isn’t worth the effort.
