I have no roof rack. Roof is stock from factory. I was able to see the water running down the inside of the firwall and out from the condensate drain at the same time. I pulled the drain hose inside the cab temporarily to check. I only wet the windshield from middle height with a garden hose. The roof was totaly dry. I don't doubt roof racks can leak though. It's good to check. I always have my fan on low at least. That must dry the cabin filter so that's why I was thrown off for a while. I expected to find it soaked and it probably was but dried quickly via the fan. Check under those mats. If you find moisture start looking for the cause before the floors rot out from the inside.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Nah I've been going nonstop working on the house and yard. Haven't gotten to it yet. Just gonna leave it under the carport and hope it doesn't get any more water in

This was my experience too. This should be step one if there is a visible gap between that rubber seal and the windshield and/ or you have wet floor mats. Give this a few more years and Toyota will be replacing rusted out cab floors in addition to frames. I just put my weathertech mat back on that side yesterday. It took a long time for that carpet and pad to dry out.

Any chance you can post a pic of the area you're referring to? Went to vacuum the truck this morning, pulled out the passenger side mat and the carpet underneath was wet...

My gap isn’t over the cowl opening which is further to the left on passenger side. So I dont have leakage into the interior. I also installed a piece of vinyl siding over the cowl opening to prevent any possibility of water intrusion.
Your best bet is to remove the cover under the wipers and try to rebend the bent cover and reinstall with some sealer under the rubber gasket. By removing the cover you will get an idea of how the water gets into the interior. Also why it is removed install some metal screening over the cowl opening to prevent rodent intrusion.

My leak was further to the right as you sit in the cab and right over the cabin air intake. It looked just like armkbs picture. I removed the cowl and cleaned the base of the windshield well with a razor bade and acetone. I applied a black adhesive sealant that I got from Advance Auto.It was not silicone. It was a small tube and I think it was from 3M. I squirted into the u shaped recess, the whole length, in the cowl weatherstripping. Make sure you clean the recess in the weatherstripping before applying the sealant. I reinstalled the cowl, wiped off any excess sealant neatly and taped the cowl weatherstripping firmly to the windshield with masking tape. The next morning I took off the tape and there was no more gap. I just checked my rain gauge, two inches so far last night and today. I'll check the floor tomorrow morning but I'm pretty sure the problem is solved.

Thanks for the info. Was there a specific reason you didn't use a silicone?

I'm just not a fan of silicone generally. It seems to make a hard to clean mess. I threw out the package and the empty tube for the product I used. I know it came from Advance Auto though. It was a tube smaller than a tube Permatex black silicone gasket maker if I recall correctly. It was in the same area of the store. Auto windshields and weatherstripping are installed with specific products.

Checked floor this morning after almost 3 inches of rain over the weekend.... result, wet floor. I'm not sure where to check now. It might be that the high volume of rain just fills that well below the cowl and overtops the curb around the cabin air intake before it can drain. We have been getting rain like that regularly for the last year. It almost makes me want to get rid of the truck. Two things I can't stand... water leaks and fumes from burning oil in the cab.

Maybe I do have to look at those roof rack strips for leaks as has been suggested.

If the drains are opened and or unobstructed, there is no way enough rain could fill the area under the cowl and overflow into the passenger compartment. Remove your cowl...really an easy 10 minute job...inspect and get an idea of how water drains out. Make sure there isn’t a gap in the rubber gasket of the cowl over the cabin intake. That can be a direct source of water intrusion.

I'm not so sure about the drains being big enough. Mine are clear, water from the hose goes right out of the bottom of the passenger fender. I have removed the cowl for inspection. I sealed the whole cowl gasket to the windshield with adhesive sealer. There is no visible gap now. I used auto body seam sealer around the cabin air intake curb under the cowl. I put a sheet metal shield over the air intake sealed to the fire wall so water cannot get into the cabin air intake from above as in rolling off the windshield and through a cowl gap. Unless there is another leak or gap under that cowl somewhere, the only way I can see is for that area under the cowl to fill faster than it can drain and overtop the air intake curb. We had 3 inches of rain this weekend in a 24 hour period. There were several tropical downpours during that time. Normal rains didn't seem to be an issue after the above actions were taken, but who knows. All I know is that the carpet is now wet again. It's really a pain in the neck. I'm open to all suggestions.

It’s a very typical leak for the tacos. It’s a drain line is plugged. Was actually searching for the tutorial on here to check out the write up because mine leaks every time in a car wash and need to do it. Something to do with taking a shopvac to suck the line and clear the blockage...

I have observed myself that water can will run into the cowl vent and leak from somewhere under the dash into the cab AND the out a/c drain line at the same time. It may be that when the a/c line is blocked the system fills with condensate water and leaks into the cab from this mystery underdash area. Mine was not leaking from the lower parts of the blower housing. There must be another opening higher and on the firewall side of the blower housing.

I don't have any leaking, but I do have a gap in the cowl seal that looks very similar to Armkb's. I was going to see about the dealer replacing it, since it caught my eye, but now I'm worried that maybe the new one will develop same kind of gap, but over the vent!! Any thoughts?

I would think you would be under 3/36 warranty for that. Check you carpets on both sides for dampness and keep your nose open for the odor of mildew. Maybe have the dealer make a note of the defect now for the future.

Yeah, it's still under warranty. Will get their opinion on it...I also don't like that I've seen leaves falling into that gap.
