I just bought a 2011 Taco, and noticed damp carpet underneath each floor mat in the cab. It’s a reg cab. Water must be coming from top of vehicle because they are wet without me driving in the rain. So it’s not splashing up.

I have lifted up the carpet on passenger side and no clue where the water is coming from.

Any help or is this a common issue?

Check the a/c drain on the fire wall. May be plugged.

    Most likely the A/C.

Did it just get detailed? They may have gotten a little crazy shampooing the carpets and it never got a chance to dry out

You shouldn’t take a leak in the cabin of your truck, that’s what the woods are for :poking:

That said, probably just a clogged a/c drain. Poke a stick up there to clear it out.

If it's a new to you used vehicle check the firewall in the engine bay, potentially there are penetrations for passing through wire (like for an amplifier) that were not sealed when the previous owner or the dealer removed the equipment.

I've run into this issue rather frequently with a new used car coming in for repair.
