Looked underneath the truck and everything looked dry except this part. I’m not sure what part this is by the driveshaft. Any help identifying is appreciated 87029DF2-6092-4DFD-AD7F-C6973D1F8844.jpg

    How's it smell?

They can get noisy with time so it's possible someone greased it from the top end. If not it's probably gear oil from the transfer case

Are there any seals inside that housing that can go bad?

Or just buy a new speedo cable and replace?

There's a seal in the speedometer cable nut. And I suppose it could be that but it kind of looks like it's coming out of the cable in which case I think that's just the cable is failed it's worth trying to tighten it though.

Thanks guys. I had it “fixed” (lubed up) about 7 months ago at an actual speedometer shop. I was advised not to buy a new one but here we are 7 months later.:spending::bananadead:
