OP didn't listen. The service writer said sway bar link.

Its funny you mention triggered.. the knee jerk reaction around here is to assume that every single dealership service writer is trying to get over on the customer when they mention anything

Never said OP was complaining. Just pointing out how everyone automatically assumes that service writers are up to no good

In the first post when he said "sway bar leaking" I immediately knew that he had simply heard wrong when the service writer was talking to him over the phone.

You decided to jump in with helpful comments like " the dealership is trying to make their quota!" and " the best thing you can do is take your truck to someone else"

Thats pretty helpful to the OP..

I like how you conveniently omitted where I told him to check it himself.

Dealerships have a reputation for this type thing. Im sorry you got offended by people talking in an open forum.

Unfortunately mechanics in general are known to be like this. The ones that charge 300 bucks for a diff fluid change too it doesn’t help public opinion. What’s it cost to change the sway bar fluid?

When I hear the term "sway bar leak" I immediately know that he actually meant "link". I talk to customers on the phone a lot and I can understand how easily that mistake can be made.

When you heard "sway bar leak", instead of actually thinking about how the customer may have gotten confused you immediately start talking about criminal service writer behavior.

    Same old broken record

Can I drill some holes in my swaybar and then add some grease zerks?

sway bar links grease boots can easily be damaged during assembly or disassembly when adding a lift. Aftermarket sway bar links can be purchased and they are not very expensive, and I believe the MOOG ones have zerks..... not sure of the quality, I am still running originals....

From my experience of working at multiple dealers ( Toyota ford and Chrysler) I can say with confidence that most service advisors are fucking idiots with almost zero mechanical knowledge on any matter. Just speaking from personal encounters in the work place.

Exactly, when my Toyota battery died under warranty, they tried to blame my lift on it. I just laughed in his face and said try again. I eventually rolled out of there with a brand new free battery. Bunch of idiot's they are.

My experience with leaky sway bars has taught me to check the muffler bearings. Usually when the sway bar begins to leak the muffler bearings need their charcoal canister replaced.

I try to stay away from leaky sway bars.
