This evening I went to grab something out of my truck when i noticed a small oil puddle on my driver side floor mat. It is a oil substance and after looking under the dash (right above the pedals ) . It seems to be coming from the steering shaft. I'm not sure the technical terms for this specific part. Any ideas on what this might be would be helpful .

No this is a brown oil , it wasn't really too thick . I am going to try and get a pic up ASAP after work .
