Toyota--"umm... Leather seats? Safety sense? It's great? right guys?"

What's wrong with these guys at Toyota?

Who are they trying to appeal to? The foo-foo hippies that want power seats and leather? Or actual truck fans?

What he said ^ . Give him a minute, he'll post it sooner or later. There are going to be TRD-OR and TRD-SPORT and then the premium to both of those.

you can test drive any new toyota, all of them now have the TSS.

Agreed, I loved the paint on my 2001 Black Sand Pearl Tacoma and hated the Black on my '03 4Runner....showed every swirl and scratch. I'll go in for a trade appraisal on my exact truck, except in Midnight Black Metallic whenever it becomes available.

The difference is the full-size market has stiff competition. There is no sales competition with the Tacoma within mid-sizes.

Toyota should drop the price of the 2018s a bit, and flood the market with Tacomas before more of the competition (Scrambler and Ranger) gets here. I doubt I'll buy one, but I will likely drive one of each a little over a year from now.

I guess Toyota feels a need to make a color no one will want to buy so somewhere
a 2018 will be the one that sits on a dealer lot for 10 months....

I've given up on Jeep entirely. The Scrambler will be 90% girls in baseball hats with "Life is Good" tire covers, just like the Wrangler.

The Ranger had all the opportunity in the world to come back with a bang, and from all the "leaked" pics so far, they seem to doing what they can to drop the ball entirely. (Disclaimer: Maybe it'll look diff at release).

the reason you will not see JBL on the access cab is due to the subwoofer enclosure and pushing the seats out about 1-2 inches. on a double cab you really dont notice it, but on an access cab that knee space is a premium for back seat.
