Leaked Transmission Fluid Concern

    I was waiting for the oof. I am concerned with anyone touching my truck, especially a Jeep dealer also. But I found out that a guy there worked at Toyota until a couple of years ago, I called and verified this before going and after talking about the trucks I was feeling confident.

    I just heard from them. They did overfill it and fluid was coming from the vent line. The line was split and was just coming out the whole length of it. Sure enough, they admitted that the Toyota guy was working on another truck when mine was being finished.

    Lesson learned for me. Oof

    I had this issue with my Jeep. The cause was that the trans was overfilled and it seeped out a weep hole every time it got hot. Perhaps they did not verify the level at the proper temperature. The fluid check is WAY lower than the fill port. If the procedure is not followed properly, it's easy to overfill it.

    Man, id be leery of the potential damage done to seals of the trans due to over filling.
