In writing. Especially in this case.

Personally, I’d have it totaled by the insurance company. Or have someone else clean it and sell it. I would not drive it again.

Yep call the cops first to report it stolen. If you find your own car it's oddly suspicious. If the popo find it, they did their job.

Reading all these horror stories about mold makes me anxious. I don't have a leak in my 2017 but I'm half tempted to run a bead of clear silicone or RV caulk and call it a day. Fuck Toyota and their red tape on this issue. By the time it happens and you expect them to fix it under warranty, you've already wasted 2 days of your time and energy

There’s only one way to properly seal a car to stop leaks!

Some people just run a hose over it and watch the roof from inside. Best way would be to pull the headliner and do it.

I traded in my 2016 Access cab recently. Before I went in to pick up the new truck I decided to give her a good detail on the interior. Just had tools and other things in the back but when I cleaned it all out I saw drip marks all down the back side near the window. I suspect it had been leaking a little, well, for about 3 years. I just wiped it all down good, slathered what I could with Armor All and traded that sucker in. Toyota needs to get their shit together on things like this. I live in PNW and it rains like a mother fucker here. Doesn't take long for mold to take over. As far as I could tell there wasn't any mold or smell but the next guy that gets the truck may end up with a problem if it's not fixed.

I would hope that the dealer would check to make sure all the TSB were completed and up to date.

Not sure if you are referring to me or not but I already had a 2020 on the lot waiting for me. If I had found the problem and not been buying a new truck, I would most assuredly fixed the problem.

Don't worry though. My truck went through a 2,400 point inspection by the crack staff of $12hrs flunkies before it was re-sold. I'm sure they noted the problem and fixed it.

Just a general statement. Most people do it. I've been a victim and a guilty party more than once over the years. more a victim tho. Hell, it could be argued that Toyota is selling defective vehicles straight from the factory.
