No TBS for access cab third brake lights. They are totally different than double cab lights. Mine are not factory but this picture shows that the access cab light unscrews from the outside unlike the double cab which unscrews from inside the cab under the headliner.B3CE8888-726C-4C9F-905D-BDCE686C5A0B.jpg

Mine is currently at the dealership now for the same thing. It was leaking bad seats and headliner were soaked and I had water puddled in the compartment behind the seats. They said it’s all covered by the warranty. They have to replace my backseat, headliner and all of the carpet in the truck. They’ve had it for a week and will probably have it two more.

If you wanted to make an impression, drive it there and step out in a respirator and tyvek suit.

Anyone know if this leaking problem has been resolved with later model years?

+1, Class A is the only way to go if you want to make an impression.
Treat your tacoma as a permit-required confined space and tell the service adviser he needs to be an authorized entrant prior to inspecting the interior.

I even have mold growing on the front seats. I’m headed in tomorrow morning to talk to the service manager and I will be calling Toyota corporate direct in the AM

Dealerships don’t perform any TSBs for shits and giggles. They’re not recalls, the only time a TSB is performed is if customer complaint matches a known issue with TSB and tech can verify the problem exists.

The latter part varies by dealer, but there can be a 3 year old truck with a bad CPS and it’ll never get swapped out until it fails.

Yes, any models built after the TSB was issued I believe.

That's because most guys drive their truck every day,you let your truck sit for who knows how long without checking it,so the moist turned into mold.

Why would I check it? Its a essentially new truck with 10k miles and no issues known to me.....It’s not like Toyota sent out a letter or even a email about the issue? I don’t think any of us are like .....hmmmmm I should go check my 34k truck for leaks today just to be sure

That's why you didn't catch the leak early enough. Not saying its your fault, just saying since you don't drive it much that's why its moldy from the leak.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
FWIW ... I had a car fill up with rain water. It was a new VW and I parked on a incline for a few days and I guess the factory forgot to put a rubber molding around the trunk and it filled up with water and I didn't know it.

I was amazed how much water ran off the VW roof and deck lid and went into that car ... it was everywhere with a small lake inside the front and back seats and the seats were soaked too.

I put a dehumidifier in the VW and rolled up the windows and used to towel to close the window around the electrical card to the dehumidifier.

It took 2 days and it was dry as a bone.

I caught it before mold had started too. Good luck.

This in no way negates Toyota's responsibility. The OP letting his truck sit without checking did not cause the mold, Toyota's failure to properly seal the the bed light did.

I leave in FL, that means a lot of rain, then, if I am going to travel for 2-3 weeks and I will leave my truck parked on the driveway, I have to hire a company to send somebody everyday to check the truck for water leaks? That sounds kind of ridiculous to me. Unless Toyota has sent a letter asking me to take the car to the dealership because of a water leak recall, how I would know about it?

My pos Camaro did the same thing, gallons of water in the foot wells. I drilled holes in the floor under the mats and drove around with a whole bunch of silica packets.
