I noticed something has been leaking where my fiance parks her truck.. Like me she has a Tacoma, but an older 2002 Stepside...

I'm thinking it might be oil leaking, and then getting dirty from dust, tree pollen and wind blowing over it, etc. But it could be something else. Took a quick picture, what does this look like to you guys? Seeing that one fresh drop of what looks like oil, I think she has a leak. We haven't changed her oil in about 3-4k miles so it's time. Maybe the oil pin isn't tight enough. She did it herself last time, rather than me. haha.

    Thanks!

I don't have an answer, but if you get a chance, crawl around underneath and look for anything that is wet. Try to find the origin. Maybe also check your fluid levels to see if anything has dropped.

Smell it if you're nose is trained.
Otherwise clean the floor and in the morning before the truck moves see if there is anything on the floor, if so do as FWAdam says.
You may have to remove the skid plates to really find the source but you'll know as you did deeper.

Yeah when she gets off work I'll crawl under and look. Just checked my truck to make sure :)... I rarely park there, so it's her truck.

I'll report back in an hour or so when she gets off work. Thx

if she did it first time last time then maybe the drain plug gasket didn't seal well or most likely she made a mess and got oil all over the skid plate. if so it could just be that stuff dripping after water gets splashed around under there from rain or hitting water puddles.

that looks more like an occasional drip then anything leaking.

No she has done it for years. She's surprisingly a smoking hot blonde, AND changes her own oil, and does it right.. I'm just saying, that could be why. I'll check now. Haha. She always does it right tho

and what do you mean kDf .. Where

Take a rag and wipe the back of the valve covers where it meets the heads closest to the firewall and see if it leakin back there.

don't overlook the power steering, check those lines and hoses too. its right there by the oil pan and sometimes they develop leaks from a fitting need tightening

Aaand maybe I should have done it after all.. Could be a leak in the rear seal, but I don't think she put the oil filter on tight enough. Looks like it's been coming from the filter a looot.

Yeah I don't think it's anything major luckily.. Quick oil change and a cleaning should hopefully do
