Leaking Front Diff Breather Causes?

    1st all take it to the car wash with a wand and clean everything,

    I had a diff axle seal put in by the dealership and it failed

    Could be the diff hose too but I see just a little weeping from the vent breather

    Must be a bad pic because both breathers are sopping wet.
    Can anyone help with which one is the front diff breather and how to remove them?

    Thanks. I didn’t want to just go yanking on something. My “repairs” start off at $20 and good intentions and turn into $100’s, truck is down, I’m bleeding and swearing and teaching my kid colorful language.

    Put in a new breather and brake cleaned the mess. Drove today and no more spewing. The old breather was gunked up and the hose was soaking wet.
    Tomorrow I’m installing an in-line filter with the guts removed.

    No leaks from the rear though I’ll do the breather mod to the gas fill area in the spring

    Ok good, just check it anyways to make sure it’s working,

    My axle seal blew out because mine breathe valve was stuck closed =1000.00 for repairs

    Ok I raised the breather 6" and it still leaking so added the filter now

    Now I'm frustrated, added 6" hose and the filter and its STILL leaking,
    Guess I'm going to have to do some draining a little at a time till it stops coming out

    Dear Internet,

    Please accept my application to join this prestigious society of people who's front diff breathers randomly started barfing gear oil into their engine bay and driver's side front suspension.

    I last changed my gear oil about 2 years ago, I'm not sure what the hell happened where NOW it starts spewing everywhere. I hope there isn't a more serious problem lurking down there.

    The gear oil sure smells terrible when it burns on the exhaust manifold!
