Hello everyone, I was looking to get some clarification as to what part this is? The drivers side is leaking what looks like oil, more-so when the truck is running. If anyone has any experience or knowledge on the issue its much appreciated, thanks.

Touch the drip on the ground, smell it. Squeeze and rub between your fingers. If it’s motor oil it’ll stay slippery. If it’s coolant it’ll feel slightly oily but dry up as you rub.

Tell us what you have. Motor, auto or manual trans, 2 or 4 wheel drive.

It's definitely oil. The truck is a 2007 4.0L 4WD Automatic. Do you know what the part is?

It just looks like a random bolt that something is leaking ONTO. Take a pic of the actual leak.

Is it motor oil or gear oil?

Wells there are two of these, one of each side. They look like some sort of support. Im also assuming its motor oil seeing as how far forward the leak it. The thing is I cant find any oil above its only coming from what looks like between the rubber gasket/bumper and then running to the bolt and then dripping from the bolt.

well after further investigation thanks to cop414 I was actually able to trace the issue back to a radiator line and the clamp was so rusted when i grabbed the line it started leaking red coolant.

if that goes to your radiator, its probably coming from your transmission - a trans cooler line, within the radiator.

The part that was originally posted, is one of the front differential mounts, so that shouldnt be leaking because its just rubber and a bolt.

I will have to take a closer look at it tomorrow and see where all the lines run to, thanks for the feedback. Pretty rusty for sure, its a NY truck.

Leaking that long, I would bet your transmission is low too. Recommend reading up on a couple of the auto trans drain & fill threads.
