so I’m in Moab and drove golden bar rim and gold spike up to the Golden Spike. On the way back my propeller and rear diff hit a rock I should have done some better landscaping around. Now the bottom of the rear diff has some oil stains that weren’t there before and a small scratch on the propeller itself. I can’t post pics since it is dark right now, but does anyone know:
    1) a good shop near Moab or where to get diff fluid (I’ve got my tools including some to change the diff oil if needed)
    2) how screwed am I? I mean, are the rear diff casings weak on 2nd gens? Closest dealer I saw on my way here was in Salt Lake City.

    More info:
    - The rear axel and stock e-locker worked well during the trip around the trail, including after the propeller/diff bump.
    - I’m having some new vibration on the paved roads (however my tires are muddy) but no howl.
    - I have icons all around and custom leaf packs w/ 3” lift on the rear which had a slight vibration at low speeds which started after the leaf springs were installed. I had another vibration that went away with engaging the 4x4 prior to this trip (ecgs bushing waiting for me at home). So this is sort of a new vibration I’m feeling.
    - will have pics first thing in the morning once we have some daylight.

I’m hoping I placed this in the proper thread. Apologies for long winded OP

No leaks were noted right after the hit. The diff had oil stains about 30 minutes after the hit. After all night sitting on hotel parking lot there is one drop in the ground as one of the pics show. Any input about places in Moab, albeit open on a Sunday, would be great.

    sorry to hear,

vibes could be your wheels are piled up with mud, when mine are packed with snow or mud hardcore they vibrate like a mofo and i have to go kick off that shit.

You should be fine on the diff if its not a big leak, find a bottle if you can and top off once in a while if you see it losing a lot. Worst scenario is you blow a ring gear....

rear casings are pretty stout, i have bashed mine near the drain hole a bunch. If you have rtv, a temp fix is to run it along the areas of the leak to slow it potentially

if after the wheels are cleaned you still have vibes it could be the shaft being thrown off balance.

Tighten the 3rd member bolts and keep running it. That's what I would do at least.

That one looks different from the other ones but that’s from factory. Here’s another angle. image.jpg

I meant that it had less threads showing than the others.

Update: made it home to MT. Couldn’t drive over 65mph due to pretty bad drive line vibes. Rtv stopped all leaks. Now sitting at the shop. Need a new propeller shaft and seal. Thanks for all the help y’all.
