Hey folks! So after a run thru the car was i noticed a couple drips of water coming from the headliner on the back passengers side, then after a heavy rain i looked and everything in the storage bin behind the rear passenger side seat was wet.. has anyone else had an issue with a bad window seal? Or anything else? I've only had the truck 6 months, and its going back to the dealer tuesday, but i was just wondering if this was a common issue?

Window seal or the third brake light? Third brake light leaking has been documented here extensively .

100% your rear brake lamp up top---cover it with tape for the time being until you can get it in the dealer

Water is nature’s solvent... it can ruin everything. Why the hell can’t Toyota solve this simple but critical issue?

Seriously, I'm seeing all the threads on it now. Ive ALWAYS had tacomas, and first it was frame issues, now this. I totally agree. Toyota needs to do a better job. Now i wonder if i can put in a warranty claim for the makita tools i had that got soaked and wrecked from the leak.... i doubt it lol.

If you take it to the dealer be sure to double check their sealant work. I've had the headliner leak issue after car washes as well and took mine to the dealer to try and get it sealed up and they said it would take a few days and would not offer a loaner. Long story short I get it back after 2 days, washed it, and the leak is still there so now I am waiting for time off to take it back

My dealer dicked me around at first and wanted to charge $99 to diagnose it.. so after i gave a bad review on google, the general Manager reached out to me and said no charge and a free rental, since they'd probably have it for a couple days. I told him once i was satisfied, I'd take down my negative review and give a good one. I was surprised how well that worked! You should try the same!

I dropped mine off today and my service advisor was well aware of this issue. Surprised that there wasn’t a recall on it yet he says.
