Well, my steering rack has started to leak. The boot from the tie rod slipped off the last time I went offroading and evidently some dirt got inside and has ruined the seal.

I've tried cleaning it with a pick but that hasn't helped.

Anyone have any suggestions? I hear they make power steering fluid that is designed to swell rubber seals to stop leaks, so I might try that.

How hard are they to remove and rebuild?

Mine started leaking this spring. It was covered by my extended waranty.

I only have drivetrain warranty and I'm doubting it'll cover the steering rack leaking. Anybody got ballpark guesstimate of what the dealer may charge to put in new seals while I have it there for them to seal an oil leak on the motor. Calling them now but scared of the answer.
